Just ask her and Peggy will tell you why Asheville is the best place to live in the U.S. There’s never been a stronger advocate of our area…especially coming from a “Northerner.”  Peggy grew up in Central New York State and escaped to Florida for a (very long) ten years after college but eventually found her true “home” in the mountains of North Carolina.

 

After graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in Advertising, her love of sunshine led her to Florida, where Peg’s desire to become an advertising mogul, instead resulted in a career in Sports Medicine. After many years her love of the beach and the ocean lost out to her dislike of the traffic, heat, and perpetual summer. In 1994, throwing caution to the wind, she and her husband Tim (and their dog), sold their house, packed the U-Haul and headed to Weaverville, just north of Asheville; future unknown. What they found was their own personal paradise in the mountains of North Carolina and she began her new real estate career.

 

Peggy is an ardent animal lover and activist. All of the family pets have been rescued from a life far less pampered. Augie, her three legged Australian Shepherd brings unbridled devotion to their home and also is a therapy Dog who loves his job visiting Hospice patients and nursing homes.

 

 

Always on the go, Peggy completed her first marathon in 2007.  For years her husband watched her trot off for her morning run and eventually he became motivated to start running and the “game was on”. Faced with a competitor, Peg’s short runs soon grew to 26.2 miles and they celebrated this accomplishment together.

 

Peggy’s joy for life is evident in all she does. Real estate is challenging. It requires training, knowledge and compassion balanced with a good sense of humor. It is guaranteed that you’ll start as a client and remain a friend for the long run.

 

Enthusiasm is the core of her being and that enthusiasm combined with her area knowledge and expertise in our local market led Peg to be selected as the Asheville Real Estate Expert to appear in four episodes of “My House Is Worth What?” for HGTV.

 

It’s no wonder Peggy is always smiling and laughing. She enjoys a great life, a great family and dozens of friends who share their love for every opportunity to be in the outdoors; camping, hiking, boating and skiing. Along with her love of the mountains, she raves about the city of Asheville and says “Where else can you spend the day paddling a river in perfect solitude and then just a few minutes later find yourself in a vibrant down town with street musicians, artists, restaurants and surrounded by so much diversity and creativity!”
