GINGER GODARD

Ginger comes from an academic family who put down their roots in North Carolina at the end of the 17th century. She has spent almost of all of her life in the state, and many of those years in Asheville. Growing up on the Warren Wilson College campus in Swannanoa, where her father was once Dean, Ginger forged community service values and deep appreciation for nature. She still finds time for camping, decorating homes, organic gardening, antique shopping, horseback riding, and hiking. As a youth, she was also introduced to the rich “philosophy of living” adhered to by the college and greater community. Lessons of caring, responsibility, giving back to community, and service were instilled and embraced at an early age.
Prior to launching her real estate career, Ginger taught History and Drama in North Carolina public schools. She received a Masters in Theatre Arts from Northern Illinois University after completing a B.F.A. in Acting & Theatre Arts at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received her certification in Secondary Education in the Social Sciences at NC A&T State University in Greensboro.
When moving back home to the Asheville area 12 years ago, Ginger sought a major career change that would enable her to become a value to this area that has provided her life with meaning. Real estate allows her to help others find their homes and sacred spaces, as well as reaching out to help meet community needs. Deeply involved in animal rescue organizations, she has deep love, respect and passion for our furry companions. Ginger gives a percentage of all earned commissions resulting from advertising to local animal rescue groups.
Ten years ago, she completed her family by adopting her son Jeremiah Cristian Alexander Godard from Guatemala. They enjoy life in Weaverville just a tad North of Asheville with their two Royal Standard Poodles – Katie and Cowboy. A woman with many talents, an exciting background and rich life experiences, Ginger appreciates diversity in people and looks forward to understanding their particular real estate needs. Ginger prides herself in helping customers find their unique dream home and takes great strides in helping her sellers prepare their home for the market. Ginger is also a land specialist selling large portions of land as well as smaller building lots.
